The Children's Route 2009
Each journey to school or nursery absolved on foot, by bicycle, skater, bus or tram counts one Green Footprint. To simplify matters, we assume that each journey or Green Footprint corresponds to 1 km. So, all Green Footprints reported to Climate Alliance will be added, hoping that the kids will collect even more Green Footprints than in 2008!
If your city, municipality, school, kindergarten, ... has participated in the Green Footprints campaign, send an email to zoom@climatealliance.org and
- tell us the number of Green Footprints you have collected
- send us reports and pictures of your activities so we can public your activities on our website.
Where are we going to?
This year the route will be the distance from your city/municipality/school/kindergarden to Kopenhagen, where the next UN Climate Conference in Kopenhagen, Denmark (7-18th Dec. 2009) will take place.
Calculate your individual route
So this year we will have indivdual routes to go to.
For example: the distance from Frankfurt am Main to Kopenhagen 418 miles, Vienna (Austria) to Kopenhagen 540 miles.
Calculate the distance between your city/municipality/school/kindergarten to Kopenhagen. This will be your route 2009. Perhaps your school/nursery is to small to achieve this aim. In that case, search for support in your municipality. Or calculate how much of the way you have achieved in percent.
Symbolic Journey around the world
Our journey will also be a symbolic yourney via Africa, Antarctica, South- and North America, The Artic, Asia, Oceania, Australia and will end in Denmark at the conference venue in Kopenhagen.
